Srinagar: A Jammu & Kashmir court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Yasin Malik after he was freed last month from prison, officials said on Sunday. The warrant against Yasin Malik, the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) was issued by a court in Jammu on Saturday after he failed to appear before it, officials said. Malik was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (Pota) on March 25 when police recovered $100,000 from two people, who said the money was being smuggled for Malik. He was granted bail by the Pota court on July 20, but was not freed since the Farooq Abdullah government in Jammu and Kashmir ordered his detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA). However, the Mufti government ordered Malik''s release on November 12 as a part of its election promise to ''release people with no major charges against them.'' After his release, Malik led three well-attended anti- government demonstrations in Kashmir, the latest on Friday, in Sopore.
