SRINAGAR: The Hurriyat Conference on Saturday dismissed the suggestion of Hizbul Mujahideen supreme commander Syed Sallahuddin to suspend deliberations with Ram Jethmalani led Kashmir Committee. The Hizbul Mujahideen chief, in a recent statement from Pakistan, had termed the Kashmir Committee as a creation of India and suggested that the Hurriyat should not hold any more talks with the committee. Hurriyat chairman Abdul Gani Bhat told mediapersons that Hurriyat was a political forum and reconciliation in politics was necessary. The Hurriyat chief added, We will consider the opinion of Syed Sallahuddin, but it is not imperative that we abide by it. We have our own independent stand in this regard. Bhat said the Hurriyat Conference would be entering into a third round of talks with the Kashmir Committee next week. The Kashmir Committee members will later cross over to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to hold talks with the leadership there.
