Al-Arifeen claims it killed NC leaders, attacked Cong office

Srinagar: A little known terrorist outfit Al-Arifeen, believed to be a shadow group of Lashker-e-Taiba, on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the killing of two National Conference leaders here on Wednesday morning and the grenade attack at the Congress headquarters on Tuesday. A spokesman of the outfit Abu Vikas called a local news agency NAFA and said the outfit killed National Conference leaders Ali Mohammed Dar and Ghulam Rasool Mir. He claimed that the outfit also carried out the grenade attack at the Congress headquarterson Tuesday in which three people were injured. Earlier Lashker-e-Jabbar had claimed responsibility for the attack on Congress office. Al-Arifeen came to light when it claimed responsibility for killing Law Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Lone in Kupwara district on September 11. Later LeT claimed it killed Lone.
