ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-based militant group Hizbul Mujahideen, which has warned people against taking part in the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, is considering floating a political wing to enable it to play a political role and possibly participate in the polls in the state in future. According to Pakistani Urdu newspaper Ausaf, Hizbul leader Sayed Salahuddin, who contested the elections in Jammu and Kashmir in the past, was stated to be seriously considering to join the future election process. For this purpose, he is considering the formation of a political wing, which would enable the outfit to play a political role in Kashmir, it said. The newspaper quoted the sources as saying the perception appeared among the militant groups that as the Hurriyat Conference and Jehadi groups were not participating in the coming elections, a fresh poll could be held in the state to facilitate their participation.
