Hurriyat must change its ways, says Bilal Lone
4 August 2002
SRINAGAR: Bilal Gani Lone — representative of the People''s Conference in the separatist Hurriyat Conference and son of the slain People''s Conference founder, Abdul Gani Lone — said today that his party would have a rethink over continuing in the 23-party amalgam if the Hurriyat did not change its style of functioning. ''I think the time has come for the Hurriyat Conference to change its ways.... went out to people with their programme or else the People''s Conference will have to rethink and draw its own charter,'' he told PTI. He, however, refused to comment categorically whether his party was contemplating pulling out from the Hurriyat. Mr. Bilal said he did not have any personal differences with other Hurriyat Conference leaders but did not agree over the way they functioned. — PTI.
