Three Hizb militants lay down arms

SRINAGAR: Three militants of pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen outfit on Wednesday surrendered before the security forces in the border district of Kupwara in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said. The militants laid down their arms before army authorites in Kupwara district town, the spokesman said without divulging the details. ''Their identification and other relevant details could endanger their lives,'' he said. The spokesman said security forces on Tuesday night recovered five kgs of explosive material, 10 detonators and two remote control devices from the house of one Subhan Mir at village Bawan-Watsar in Kupwara. The house-owner had been detained for questioning, he added.
