Hurriyat leaders meet Musharraf

Islamabad: A four-member delegation of the Hurriyat Conference lawyer’s wing from Jammu and Kashmir met the Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and mooted the idea of an Indo-Pak summit in Srinagar to resolve the vexed issue of Kashmir. The lawyers delegation comprising Mohammad Amin Butt, Ghulam Nabi Hagroo, Mohammad Ashraf Butt and Ghulam Nabi Shaheen of Jammu and Kashmir called on Musharraf yesterday and discussed all aspects of the Kashmir issue, sources among the Kashmiri groups here said today. The delegation discussed all the aspects of Kashmir issue with the President and proposed a summit of Indo-Pak leaders at Srinagar, a proposal welcomed by Musharraf, they said. The delegation proposes to meet Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and extend an similar invitation to him. The lawyers delegation was here to meet and interact with a cross section of leaders and officials and scheduled to leave for home in a few days time.
