Muzaffarabad: Authorities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have arrested six suspected activists of the Harkatul Mujahideen militant group, officials here confirmed today. Six activists of the group were arrested in Muzaffarabad, Capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, last evening, officials told AFP, adding that the detainees were being held in a local jail. Harkatul Mujahideen was on a list of 15 organisations and 12 individuals whose assets were frozen by Washington following the September 11 attacks in the United States. Pakistan closed its offices and froze its funds but has not officially banned the group. The arrests come in the wake of a grenade attack on a Church in Islamabad on Sunday which left five people dead and dozens of others injured. Muzaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Mahmoodul Hassan Raja confirmed the detentions but declined to give further details. ''We have arrested them under the maintenance of public order,'' he said.
