NEW DELHI: The Awami National Conference (ANC) headed by former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister G M Shah has decided to contest all the 89 assembly seats in the polls slated for October this year.‘‘Nobody should shy away from elections. But an appropriate atmosphere also has to be built up where more number of people can participate in them so that good people get into the assembly,’’ Muzaffar Shah, chief spokesman of the party, told The Times of India on Friday. G M Shah would be holding 14 public meetings from April onwards in all the 12 districts of the state, he said.He said his party was also organising an intra-Kashmir conference on Jammu and Kashmir by May end, in which delegates from across the world, including from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, would participate. Among those attending it would be International Human Rights chairperson Mary Robinson, former chairman of Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, London, Lord Eric Avebury.
