Militants burn down 9 houses in J&K

JAMMU: Armed militants on Saturday set afire nine houses in Bafliaz and Mahore areas of Poonch and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here.The militants swooped over village Chandimarh in Bafliaz Hills of Poonch and torched four houses, which were vacated by the Rashtriya Rifles troops, who shifted to border recently, they said.All the four houses belonging to majority community were gutted. Later, the militants escaped, they said.In a similar incident, five more houses of a minority community were set afire by militants, who forced the minority Hindus to migrate from the area late on Friday night, the sources said.All the houses were completely gutted and all families later migrated from the area, the sources said.Militants have so far burnt down 107 structures, mostly residential houses, which were vacated by army during counter- insurgency operation in border sensitive district of Rajouri and Poonch since the Army build up on India-Pakistan border, the sources added.
