Seven militants killed in J&K

Srinagar: Seven militants were among 12 people killed in separate incidents since Friday evening in Jammu and Kashmir. A CRPF commandant escaped unhurt in a militant attack. A spokesman said militants sprayed bullets on a CRPF vehicle at Nangila in Jammu''s Kathua district on Friday night. Six militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces at Kacharbara-Merot in Poonch district on Friday evening. In another gunbattle at Zanthal-Kanthi in Doda district, militant Mohammad Ilyas was killed. Militants shot dead two members of a family at their village near Budhal in Rajouri district of Jammu. Militants killed a village defence committee member, Gulshan Kumar, at his house in Nerojal-Thanamandi. The police spokesman said militants gunned down two activists of the Hizbul Mujahideen at Kaneera-Wager in Badgam and at Khillen in Pulwama last night. Security forces busted a militant hideout during search operations in Poonch district and arrested 13 people on charges of harbouring militants.
