Hurriyat claims Army raided its office18 December 2001 The Times of India TIMES NEWS NETWORKSRINAGAR: The headquarters of Hurriyat Conference here was jointly raided by personnel of Special Operations Group and Army on Monday night and office records and furniture were ransacked, a Hurriyat spokesman alleged on Tuesday. SOG personnel and troops of Rashtria Rifles came to the Hurriyat headquarters at Rajbagh around 10 pm on Monday night and beat up the watchman before ransacking the records of the relief cell and damaging furniture, the spokesman, Sheikh Abdul Rahid, told reporters here. No objectionable material was however found, he claimed.However, when contacted, police denied any knowledge about the raid on the headquarters.''As far Police Control Room is concerned we have no information either from SOG, Army or police station Rajbagh in this connection,'' Superintendent of Police, control room, told PTI.
