BSF HQ attacked, RDX seized in J&K

SRINAGAR: Militants attacked a BSF headquarters and killed two people, including a security jawan, and wounded 12, mostly securitymen, in separate incidents since Friday evening in Jammu and Kashmir where security forces seized over 26 kg of RDX from two militant hideouts.A security personnel was killed and five of his colleagues were injured seriously when ultras hurled a grenade at their vehicle in Badgam district on Saturday, an official spokesman said.Militants on Friday night attacked a BSF headquarters in Tral town in south Kashmir firing rifle grenades and small arms fire, injuring three securitymen, the spokesman said.He said ultras shot dead a former militant near Baba Hyder Sahib shrine at Tulmulla on the outskirts of Srinagar.A security jawan and two civilians were injured in an exchange of fire between ultras and security forces at village Mehrote-Surankote in Jammu region''s Poonch district.Security forces smashed a militant hideout in Thanamandi area in Rajouri district of Jammu region and seized 25 kg of RDX besides a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including seven hand grenades.Security forces also busted another ultra hideout in Rajouri district and seized 1.5 kg of RDX, seven rifle grenades, four magazines and 308 rounds of AK rifle.A Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Abdul Ahad Reshi, was apprehended at Wusan in Baramulla, the spokesman said, adding a pistol, five hand grenades and some ammunition were recovered from him.
