Militants involved in Shepherds’ massacre killed in J&K

Jammu: THE ARMY today claimed to have killed all five militants involved in the massacre of seven shepherds in Sajjar village, in Doda district last week. The Army in joint operation with the police in Rajouri and Poonch districts killed six more militants - some of them belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba group. Five of the militants who had abducted 11 shepherds on Thursday last later killing seven of them in the upper reaches of Sajjar jungles in Doda district, were spotted by the troops near Atholi. "In our view these militants were the men involved in the carnage", Brig. P. C. Das of 16 corps of the army told the Hindustan Times. 'such eliminations help civilians regain confidence in the security forces," he added.
