Islamabad: Pakistan President Rafiq Tarar told the visiting Hurriyat Confrence (a conglomerate of 23 separatist Kashmiri outfits) executive member Sheikh Aziz that UN resolutions on Kashmir could never become obsolete. "Neither these resolutions can be discriminated from other resolutions nor could they be termed obsolete," Tarar told Aziz at an official meeting at his residence here. However, the meeting did not make any direct reference to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's recent statement that UN resolutions on Kashmir are not enforceable. During the meeting, the Pakistani President also reiterated his country's moral, diplomatic and political support for the Kashmir liberation movement. For his part, Aziz, who came here in connection with his brother's wedding, thanked Tarar for extending support to Kashmiri people and hoped Pakistan would continue to lend its support. Aziz is expected to meet Pakistan military ruler Gen. Pervez Musharraf before he leaves for India.
