3 die in separate incidents

JAMMU: Three persons died in separate incidents while as a youth was serious injured in a stabbing case at Simbal Morh late last evening. According to reports, one Kuldeep Kumar, son of Babu Ram of Ramgarh allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous drug at his residence. He was rushed to Government Medical College Hospital when spotted unconscious by family members. Doctors attending on him immediately washed his stomach but he could not fight for his life and died. Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed when a mini-bus in which he was traveling skidded off the road and turned turtle at Rambagh. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Hari Ram, son of Fakir Chand of Rambagh. A young man identified as Mohan Lal, son of Ram Chand of village Finder in R S Pura tehsil died due to critical burn injuries which he sustained accidentally at his house. He was removed to hospital where he succumbed to his severe injuries. A youth was seriously stabbed by an another youth at Simbal Morh at around 2100 hours last evening. According to police, the victim—Amarjeet Singh, son of Harnam Singh of Simbal Camp had entered into verbal dual with accused identified as Harmeet Singh, son of Satpal Singh at Simbal Morh under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib Police Station last evening. Following heated exchanges, both the persons brought out their respective sharp edged weapons. Before Amarjeet Singh could do anything Harmeet Singh inflicted serious injuries in his stomach and fled away from the spot leaving behind the victim bleeding profusely. The victim was reportedly under the influence of heavy liquor at the time of incident. The victim was immediately rushed to Government Medical College Hospital by some passers-by and shopkeepers of the said locality. His condition was stated to be critical till reports last came in. Police said that the victim also had criminal background and was involved in shoot-out at the residence of one Amar Nath in Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib locality with whose daughter he had an affair. Police have registered a case under Section 307 RPC and 4-25 Arms Act against the accused and succeeded in nabbing him. Four persons including a minor girl sustained severe injuries when an auto-rickshaw in which they were traveling skidded of the road and rolled down at fly over near Bus Stand. They were shifted to hospital by some passers-by and are undergoing treatment there. The condition of three of them including minor girl was stated to be critical. They have been identified as Gharo Devi, wife of Ranjeet Kumar, her minor daughter Shivani, Krishna Devi, wife of Krishan Kumar, all the residents of Bari Brahamana and Raj Kumari, wife of Kaka Ram of Bishnah. A young house-wife allegedly made an abortive attempt to end her life by consuming some poisonous drug at her residence. Identified as Bishno Devi, wife of Sardari Lal of R S Pura was removed to hospital after being spotted unconscious by family members. Doctors attending on her at Medical College here immediately provided her stomach wash treatment and her condition was stated to be improving now. The cause behind this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
