JK spent over Rs 2900 cr on security

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Government spent Rs 2949.20 crores under security related expenditure between 1989-90 and december 2000. Stating this in a written reply in the state Assembly today, state finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather said of this amount the home ministry reimbursed only Rs 1648.24 crore. The maximum expenditure of Rs 549.11 crore was incurred in 1999-2000 followed by Rs 388.57 crore in 1998-99, Rs 353.47 crore in 1997-98 and Rs 325.27 crore in 2000-01. The minimum expense under the head was rs 41.47 crore in 1989-90. PTI
