New Delhi: The government on Tuesday issued a passport valid for three months to separatist Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Lone, allowing him to visit Pakistan to attend his son''s wedding on November 19. The country-specific passport, which will only allow him to visit Pakistan for the wedding of his son Sajjad with JKLF chief Amanullah Khan''s daughter Asma in Rawalpindi, was issued to him after a clearance issued by the home ministry, official sources said. The decision had been conveyed to the external affairs ministry, the sources added. Earlier in the day, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued notices, returnable by November 16, to the home and external affairs ministries regarding Lone''s application for the travel document. The travel documents of Lone and other Hurriyat leaders had been cancelled following their involvement in separatist activities. However, passports of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Maulana Abass Ansari, who are presently in Doha to attend the OIC meet, were restored to them on the grounds that they were religious leaders. (PTI)
