Saudi Arabia forced to withdraw flawed maps

New Delhi: ''INDIA''S FORTNIGHT STAND''in the recent International conference on Haj Guidance forced Saudi Arabia to withdraw a controvercial map which depicted Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan strongly protesting at this wrong depiction, the Indian delegation had threatened to walk out of the conference if the Saudi Haj Ministry map was not withdrawn., delegation leader and Chairman of Central Haj Committee Tanveer Ahmad said. He said that the Prime Minister congratulated the delegation for taking a firm stand on the issue and assured that facilities would be improved for the growing number of pilgrims. Mr. Ahmad said that the Indian stand was supported by several other countries. He said Secretary General of the conference,Prof. Abu Bakar Bagader wrote to him regretting the inadvertent error that was totally unintentional and did not reflect any official position Mr. Bagader also assured thatthe broucherwould not be circulated and any error of thes kind would not occur in the future, he said. The conference attended by 52 countries was first of its kind to improve individual and collective efforts of the countries to ensure improved facilities and better management of the Haj
