10 ultras die, 20 kg RDX seized in J&K

Srinagar: Ten militants, including two “commanders” and seven Lashker-e-Tayyaba ultras, were among eleven people killed in the valley. 20 kg of RDX was recovered even as troops defused an IED fitted with five kg of RDX in a pressure cooker elsewhere in the valley since Thursday night. In a major encounter, troops shot dead six militants of Lashker-e-Tayyaba in Patwan forest in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday night, official sources said. Two foreign mercenaries, including a Lashker-e-Tayyaba militant were gunned down by the Army in two other encounters in Chalwalkot village of Rajouri district and Silaunia area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said. Two Pakistani militants, Abu Bilal, “commander” of Pir Panjal Regiment, and Shahbaz Surankote “area commander” were killed in Poonch district in a joint operation launched by a special operation group, Army and the CRPF, the sources said.(PTI)
