Hizbul, Al-Badr Claim Responsibility Of Landmine Blast

ISLAMABAD: The Hizbul Mujahideen and Al-Bdar Mujahideen Tuesday claimed responsibility of the yesterdays landmine attack on Indian troops patrol vehicle in Kashmir. The Hizbul in a statement put the death toll of the Indian troops at 8 while the Al-Badar put the toll at 12, including Brig. B.S. Shergill and Colonel Rajinder Chauhan. The two groups, however, made similar claim of using remote control to detonate the device and blew up the jeep in Baramula district. Commander Azzam of the Al-Badr Mujahideen Sangaryar Shaheed squad was in charge of the operation, according to the Al-Badr statement. Chief of Al-Badr Bakht Zameen congratulated his groups fighters on the attack and asked them to step up attacks on Indian forces. The Hizbul has described the attack as a major success of the freedom struggle.
