Islamabad: Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has advised the parties involved in the Kashmir issue to move through the Shimla agreement. Asked to comment on the Indian atrocities in Kashmir, the Palestinian leader referred to the Simla agreement for a solution of the problem. "You remember, Shimla agreement is the Arafat agreement," he said. The Palestinian leader who arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening for a meeting with Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf expressed his gratitude for Islamabad's strong support to the cause of Palestine. President Arafat's surprise two-hour stopover in Pakistan came in connection with a series of meetings he had been holding with the world leaders after the collapse of the Camp David talks. He met Gen. Musharraf for an hour and later described the meeting as very fruitful. Before his departure for Beijing, the Palestinian leader told journalists at the Chaklala airbase that he briefed Gen. Musharraf on the US-sponsored talks in Camp David.(ANI)
