Jammu: the blast which took place in an empty bus at the Jammu bus stand on Tuesday night, in which one person was killed and another seriously injured, caused rioting at the stand as drivers and conductors of other buses reportedly stoned bused coming from Srinagar and allegedly assaulted their drivers. They also beat up the PSO of a politician who had come to a bus stand dhaba for food.

The police had to baton charge to control the mob.

the two victims were both bus conductors and were the only persons on board when the blast occurred. The bus from Dharmari in Udhampur district arrived at Jammu at 6:30 pm since when it had remained parked at the centre of the bus stand.

The conductor who died was identified as Ram Lal from Billawar tehsil(Kathua). His body was blown up into pieces. the injured conductor was identified as Kuldip Singh from Gurdaspur district of Punjab. He was taken to hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

The bomb, planted under a rear seat of the bus badly damaged it. The two other bus standing near it were also damaged. An earlier plan would naturally have been aimed at maximum number of deaths when the bus, full of passengers was along the way, according to one expert.
