ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today said the agreements he reached with Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in Lahore over the weekend would "usher in an era of peace"between the two traditional neighbors.
Mr Sharif told the faculty of Bahawalpur University that Mr Vajpayees ice-breaking visit would have "positive impact" on India-Pakistan relations and ease border tensions.
After their "milestone" talks in Lahore, the two premiers issued a declaration committing their countries to negotiate a settlement of the Kashmir dispute and other issues and to take immediate steps to reduce the risk of a nuclear war between them. (DPA)
