NEW DELHI: The Delhi police have arrested four Pakistani nationals along with one of their Indian contacts and seized a large quantity of explosives from them. Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Karnal Singh said on Friday that the militants were arrested on Thursday after they reached Delhi by Poorwa Express.
The accused include Abu Saeed (20) alias Abdul Sattar, Abu Waleed (19) alias Mohd Faizal Hussain alias Imran, Abu Soeb (19) alias Mohd Sanaulla alias Soeb Alam, Alam (19) alias Imran (all residents of Pakistan) and their Indian contact Mohd Saddiq (40) of Khurja in Uttar Pradesh, he said. Two kg of RDX, one kg of PETN explosive and 10 detonators were recovered from them, he said.
Their interrogation revealed that they were planning to strike in Delhi, particularly in the cantonment area. They had plans to plant explosives in Army vehicles parked in civil areas like bus terminals and railway stations, Mr Singh said. They had also planned to sabotage vital installations in and around the capital, the DCP said, adding interrogation was on.
