Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today expressed the hope that the USA would declare all other militant outfits as terrorist organizations that were out to create trouble in the state. The USA had recently declared the Harkat-ul-Ansar as a terrorist organization.
Dr Farooq Abdullah was speaking here on the occasion of the Police Commemoration Day. Such militant organizations had infiltrated this part of the country as also in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan for creating trouble.
The Harkat-ul-Ansar and the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) here had denounced the US decision to declare HuA as terrorist. A Harkat statement published in local dailies recently alleged that USA itself was a terrorist country with an anti Muslim policy. The APHC statement in reaction to the US decision claimed that Harkat was not a terrorist organization but was fighting a 'holy war for the liberation of Kashmir'.
Earlier, the Director-General of J&K Police, Mr Gurbachan Jagat, gave details of the number of policemen killed on duty. Three DSPs were among the 50 personnel killed in Jammu and Kashmir while fighting anti-national elements between September last year and August.
