Srinagar: The special correspondent and videographer of "Ankhoon Dekhi' and 'Kashmir-File', Mr Mohammed Saidan Shafi was assassinated alongwith his security guard at Narsingarh, near here, this afternoon.
Elsewhere in the Valley, Army troops shot dead two militants and arrested three others along with arms and ammunition during the continuing violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said unidentified gunmen fired bullets on a car in which Mr Shafi and his personal security guard, Mr Monohar Lal, were travelling.
The incident happened at 1.00 a.m. today and the body guard of Mr Shafi was also injured, police said.
They were immediately shifted to police hospitals, where the doctors declared them 'brought dead', they said and added the assailants, however, managed to escape after commiting crime.
No militant has claimed responsibility for the killing of Mr Shafi, who was threatened of' 'severe consequences'by several militants for his alleged 'bias reporting' in the 'Kashmir-Film' serial. The Government had provided security to the deceased in the wake of these threats.
