The Jammu and Kashmir Solidarity Forum (JKSF), recently floated by Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) based seccessionists organisations, held a meeting in POK on 30 August to prepare for a proposed protest demonstration in the form of a 'Human Chain' from United Nations Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), Muzzaffarbad (POK) to UNMOGIP, Srinagar on 24 October.

It was decided that a mass rally would be organised in POK under the banner of 'Chakoti Challo', which would start in Muzzafarbad and culminate at Chakoti, near LAC. A similar rally starting from Uri and culminating at UNMOGIP, Sonwar, under the banner of 'Sonwar Challo', was also planned.

The meeting was attended by, among others, the PM/President of POK, Abdul Rashid Turabi (JEI-POK), Sardar Qayoom Khan (MC), Sikander Hayat Khan (MC), Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri (JEI), Mushtaq Ahmed Wani (MC), Mehmood Ahmed Sagar (PL) and Farooq Rehmani (PL-R). Meanwhile, Shabir Shah has welcomed the formation of the JKSF and its programme on October 24 while the response from the Hurriyat leadership remained luke warm.
